The Firkin was situated at 3 Eastgate Street. This pub closed in 2010 and was previously known as The Forester and Firkin', 'Dappers' in the 1980s, 'The Pen and Wig' (twice), The Cock, and originally 'The Sheridan' (after Richard Sheridan Stafford MP and playwright). It is now used as The Theatre Bar.
