The North Western was situated at 80 High
Street. This pub closed in 1970. In 1973 it was converted to a private club
called Red Fort, which in turn has also closed. |

I was born in this pub on
7th. February 1960. My Mom and Dad were the Licensees Tony and Betty
Link. There was snow on the ground and my Grandfather who shared the
same birthday was fetched off the golf course to be at the pub. A few
days later, due to a chest infection I was christened in the bar with
the local vicar as I couldn't go to the Church. |
