Kevin Setter 1973/1999 Used to work next door at Nettlefolds . This was my local when at work. Many times had a few pints before going to work on the afternoon shift
Mike Gormley 1995/2003 I was a customer, virtually lived there through difficult time in my life. Made so many good friends and had some great laughs. This pub was owned and run by a lovely Irish lady called Liz, who would go to bed and ask us to write down what we drank and pay the following day. Miss the atmosphere of this place, especially on karaoke nights.
Michael Andrews 1951/1956 Was born opposite the pub in the early fifties and would watch workers from local factories going there in the daytime with 5 gallon enamel buckets to fill with beer for tea breaks, those were the days lol .
Nigel Field 1955/1956 I was born up stairs in this pub in 1955 , My father was landlord mr Gordon Field, wife Joan , and my older brother Trevor .
Colin Lancaster 1979/1980 Had our wedding reception there. The landlords were Don and Ann Dickson.
Paul Barrett 1984/2003 I lived here for nearly 20 years. My mother was Liz who bought the Pub from Mitchells & Butlers and ran it for almost 20 years. It was a great little boozer with fantastic characters and locals drinking in the pub. The best days of my life and some of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, some became my friends who I still see today.
