The Pear Tree Cottage Inn was situated on Pear Tree Lane. Closed in 2005.

Thhis pub belonged to the Croxall family at the beginning of the 20th century.  My mother was the middle child of Andrew Croxall. He died in 1962 in his sixties.  My grandfather was the eldest son of the Croxall family who lived in Pear Tree Cottage Inn and my great grandfather had four children whilst living and tending the pub. The Croxall family living in the pub c1905 were Andrew, Albert, Winifred and Eva.

Darenne Kalirai (nee Parker) 1956-1973 My parents Floss and Peter Parker kept this pub. Good old days. I was born here, mom had a home birth. I was born 11:45pm. The pub should have closed at 10:30pm but the customers would go until they had news of the birth
