The George Inn was situated at 30 Mill
Street. This pub opened in 1836/7. The building which is grade-II listed
is thought to date from the 18th century. Since closing c2003 it has been
in residential use. |

Inn. Probably C18, refronted C19.
Local stone rubble, front rendered; undulating clay tile roof, behind
parapet on South side; brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Plinth, band
course and plain parapet; 4-panel sash windows in toothed and keystoned
surrounds; central doors, part glazed, in segmental arched openings: on East
side roof continued over open access way to yard. Interior not seen. Opened
as an inn in 1836-37 |
