The Crown was situated at 1 Draycott Road. This pub closed in 2009 following licensing problems.

In the mid/late '70's, a new girl started at Whitstone School, Mandy Bignall (Bagnall?). Her parents had taken over the Crown. She was in my class for a while. The Crown eventually died as a pub following issues,
