The Red Lion was situated on New Road, Wrockwardine Wood.

When I moved up to Telford, I was working for a builder/landlord. The job involved working on his rental properties, & staying in them overnight - to ensure they did not get broken into, or have tools/materials stolen. Sutton Hill had one of these properties, which had been thrashed. The Red Admiral, built when Dawley New Town went up in the late 1960's, was the local. Used to get some dirty looks from the regulars whenever we went in there. Even Telford memory sites refer to it as infamous & rough. Not surprised it was burnt down in 2006.
