The Champion Jockey was situated on Wrekin
Drive. This pub was named after Gordon Richards, who
was born locally. The pub was closed in 2008 and demolished in 2010. |

A typical estate type pub, served a
rather indifferent pint of Bass, as I recall. Went down there every now &
then for a game of pool - had a couple of minor league hustlers there who
would play 'for a pint'. then up the ante to a fiver, then £20, & suddenly
improve their game. Shut in 2008, I think, knocked down for development. |
