The White Horse was situated at 1 Stamford Road. This pub closed c2016. In 1982 Grittar, a horse owned and trained by a Morcott resident won the Grand National. His owner, Frank Gilman, took the horse to the White horse for a victory celebration. The landlord knocked down part of the yard wall so that Grittar could be walked around and into the bar.
