The Farriers Arms was situated on Abingdon Road.
The building was erected in 1776 as a private house, becoming a pub in 1872.
A white washed building it was often referred to as The Further White House,
to distinguish it from The White House at the northern end of Abingdon Road.
The pub closed in 1963 and was eventually demolished to make way for a spur
road to the new bypass. |
