The Hinds Head was situated at 1 Witney Road. This was a  former Greene King pub that was sold to Hawthorn Leisure in 2014 who sold it onto Sainsbury's in early 2017 who planned to demolish the pub and build a new store on the site and had won planning permission. In a twist to the tale Co-op applied for a licence to sell alcohol at the same premises.
