The White Hart was situated at 27
Bridge Street. This grade-II listed
pub was present by 1830 when the publican was Samuel Burnham. It has now
been converted to a McDonalds restaurant. |
|
My great great grandfather, John Kirk, a
Yorkshireman, was publican here in 1877/1878 until he died following an
accident in August 1878, the inquest was held at the pub. He lived there
with his second wife, her two children and his two children which included
my great grandmother. |
