The Beehive

The Beehive was situated on Stert Street. This pub closed c2000 and is now used as an Indian restaurant.

The original pub sign was written by my grandfather, William Yates, he was a sign writer. When the pub closed for good the sign (see photo below) was stolen. The wording on the sign was:

Within this Hive
We’re all Alive
Good Liquor makes us Sunny
So if you’re dry Step in and Try
A flavour of our Honey.
