The French Horn was situated on Main

residence. |

From The Good Pub Guide 1983: |
A comfortable and friendly main road
pub. The well-kept open-plan bar had cushioned Windsor chairs and wall
banquettes around glossy tables, some recent panelling, one or two
attractive seascapes alongside modern prints of olde worlde England, and
geraniums outside the windows. Its bar food is popular: chip buttie (45p),
filled rolls (55p) toasted sandwiches, ploughmans (£1.30), meat salads
(£1.85), code (£1.95), large hamburgers (£2.10), steak and kidney pie
(£2.25), gammon, scampi or duck )around £2.85) and rump steak (£4.25).
Besides keg beers, they have Pineau des Charentes, an unusual dessert wine.
A separate restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday evenings and for
Sunday lunch. There are picnic-table sets on a big sloping back paddock,
which has a swing and looks out on farmland; they have occasional barbecues
out here in summer. |
