The Dove & Rainbow was situated at 18 Upper
Parliament Street. This pub is currently used as an estate agents offices.
George Proctor (b. c1847 in Nottingham) bought the Dove &
Rainbow Inn from the estate of Robert Knight for £2650 in 1879. An inquest
was held here in 1879 on the body of Mary Jane Proctor, aged 34, landlady.
Her husband, George, had died the previous April; Verdict: Death from
