The Tap and Spile, Shields Road, Byker was previously known as The Prince of
Wales but renamed in the late 80's. After being closed for some time it was
demolished in 2001 to make way for the Morrisons supermarket; that
redevelopment was actually good improvement for the area but, tragically, it
also saw the disappearance of an the art deco picture house called The
Apollo. |
