The Trap when renamed from The Coxlodge
Hotel depicted a sign showing greyhounds leaving a trap. The Trap got this
nickname as miners returning from shift would pop in for a drink if open and
sometimes out stay, their women folk used to say " I know where he is, he's
been caught in the trap" |
