The Geordie Pride was an underground complex that was way before it’s time.
It was a giant bar in the middle with theme bars around it ( these were
separate theme rooms with bottles appertaining to the products they
represented) For example, there was an Apothecary with chemist bottles
around the walls! In this complex there was also a leisure centre. You could
gain entrance at Eldon Square and come out at The Central Station (six
streets away) without going above ground! This was around in the
1960’s-1980’s, but like a lot of the original landmarks has gone because of
“progress “
