The Globe Hotel was situated on the High Street. |

My Grandfather bought the Globe in
1955. We moved there in the January on the 5 th. I lived there until 1966.
When the Globe was sold to a scottish brewery. My grandad Mr Eric Beazley
had numerous alterations buying land on the watling Street he then sold it
and a filling station was built on it. He also bought a house called
Huntershields and other properties which he had demolished this then was
made into a car park. Now the Globe was on the corner of the A5 and the
Watling street and was easily visible from a distance. Hope this has shed a
little extra light on the history of the Globe. I have some photographs
which you may be interested in. Very sad the Globe fell into such a poor
state and is now a tesco's |
