Load Of Hay

The Load Of Hay was situated on Greenford Road. This pub was destroyed by a parachute bomb in World War II, with many civilian casualties. The site was left derelict for many years, however a Lidl supermarket has now been built on it. Publican from c1861 to 1893 was Thomas Jackson.
Relatives of mine, surnames of Nuttall and Walton were among the people who died there. I knew nothing of this till doing family history research. The two families were cousins if my maternal great-grandmother.
