Tavistock Arms

The Tavistock Arms was situated at 22 Great Russell Street. The pub was one of the casualties of The London Beer Flood of October 17, 1814. Several vats of porter from the nearby Meux Brewery (site of the now Dominion Theatre) burst, deluging Great Russell Street and collapsing a wall of the pub, suffocating 14-year-old barmaid, Eleanor Cooper.
