The Red Lion was situated at 181 Harrow
Road, backing on to the railway lines at Paddington station. Also known as
The New Red Lion, this pub has now been demolished. |
|
The red lion on the roof of the pub was
a hollow lead moulding which, by 1945 appeared to have gathered a lot of
shrapnel damage. This was apparently never totally repaired, although the
lion got a new coating of red paint. I never went into that pub. (Watneys?)
though passed it often on a 662 trolleybus. |
