Adams Arms

The Adams Arms was situated at 4 Conway
Street near the BT Tower, the building has been in existence since the 1700s
and a pub since at least 1829. Originally known as The Adams Arms, in the
1970s a folk club night called Dingles ran out of the upstairs function
room. In 1983, Creation Records founder Alan McGee ran a club night called
The Living Room from the same venue which featured bands such as The
Television Personalities, The Mekons, The Jasmine Minks, The June Brides,
The Pastels and Alternative TV. After a brief spell as an O'Neills pubs, it
was renamed The Lukin in 2009. It was purchased by film director Guy Ritchie
from Mitchells & Butlers in 2018 and renamed The Lore of the Land. On 23rd
June 2021, the pub closed after a blaze on the premised had to be tackled by
70 firefighters. |
