It was named after the frigate that brought Napoleon's
body from St Helena to France. |

This lovely old Chelsea
pub closed in September 2020 but has recently (May 2021) re-opened under new
management after a lavish but tasteful refurbishment. My abiding memory is a
New Year's Eve some six or seven years ago when the staff decided to lay on
a display of indoor fireworks. Big mistake. The smoke was overpowering,
triggering the fire alarm (which, it appears, no-one had anticipated as a
likely outcome) and we all poured out into the street choking! Happy New
Year! |

Reopened post-Covid and now leased to
Jack Greenall, a scion of the Greenall Whitley brewing family. The pub
features a bar and 28-cover restaurant area plus a private dining room. The
general manager had previously been at the Harwood Arms in Fulham and the
chef comes from the Rabbit in Chelsea. |
