The Bull was situated at 242 Upper Richmond Road, East Sheen. This pub was built in 1792 and demolished in 1938. It was then rebuilt that same year and subsequently demolished in 1987 for shop development. Completed at a cost of £45,000 just after the Second World War had begun, it was the last Watney house of the inter-war period.

This pub would get some top name musical acts during the 1970s and 80s.  I remember seeing groups such as the Four Tops and the Drifters there in the hall above the pub not to mention Cliff and the Shadows. As a small child my parents who worked for Watneys would take us to the annual works Christmas party.  The Bull was a major contributor to the social life of East Sheen and Mortlake with many events held in the hall.

This pub made a massive impact on me when i was 14 and lived to go to the disco in the basement. It was just the best place ever. Fluorescent mark on your hand and if u wore anything white it would glow and some things even became transparent. September 1969 onwards.listening to motown, regae, soul i.think about it often especially as.it is.now.demolished and nothing left of it. Affter the disco closed early in 1970 we all went to the function hall upstairs and saw some really good live acts especially one called the fantastics, ben e king etc. Aww happist days of my life spent there.

Alan Porter 1985/86 I was the lead singer in a rock band called Suspect. Played the Bull twice in 85/86.Last gig as a band in 86, went out with a bang, did a bit of crowd surfing, luckily the crowd joined in and I didn't knock me teef out on the floor! Great pub for a gig, the landlord was a huge biker, very keen angler and a very nice bloke.
Tim Collins 1960s OMG, I remember this pub, my mum and nan used to take us there every Saturday morning after they had been shopping, we used to have to sit out in the corridor with our bottles of coke and crisps. An upstairs meeting room was used by the Chelsea Pensioners, they used to chat as they went up (my sis and I could only have been about 6 and 9), somewhere around that age... how times have changed, you wouldn't leave kids on their own nowadays.
Terri Hatcher 1986 Barmaid.
David Sandy 1970s I was the manager here in 76 to 77 .. Bill Sunde was the landlord at the time many a good time had by all .. the Ball room held 170 people upstairs.. was in my late 30s early 40s back then .. such a shame to read it's gone after all these years.
