Druids Head

The Druids Head was situated at 8 Deptford Street. This pub was demolished in the 1970s.

My 3X Gt grandfather, George Landragin (born 1834) ran this pub, possibly from sometime between 1862 and 1864, until he was declared bankrupt in 1867. He abandoned his family and disappeared that year, leaving his wife to die in the Greenwich workhouse in 1873, and four children go out to service or grow up in the local orphanage.
