Kim Pittman 1966/1970 I lived there as a young child and my parents were the publicans in 1966 it used to be a Watney's pub and I remember one of my jobs on a Sunday morning was to walk down to the shellfish stall I think it was in Mammont Road, where I would buy the cockles and prawns etc to go on the Sunday lunch time bar nibbles bowls
Peter Owen 1985/1986 A regular here in the mid 80s. Well run by Ron & Babs? it was a friendly and cosy boozer in what in those days could be a pretty rough area (there was even the occasional lock in - insisted on by the coppers from the station down the road). Sad to see it closed.
