The Alliance was situated at 260 Sumner Road.
This pub has now been converted into flats. |

My Aunt Edie and Uncle Charlie Cole ran
the pub in the 1960s, I remember going there with the family for parties in
the upstairs living room which seemed huge at the time it stretched right
across the top floor , I must have been 8-12ish. Their Sons Terry and Brian,
my Cousins, also lived there at the time. I believe they left there in about
1968 to run an Off Licence and then retired to Pitsea in Essex around 1970. |

My aunt Doreen & Uncle John Murray
owned the pub for many many years before they came to live back in
Preston. Unfortunately both have now passed away but I have fond
memories visiting with my Dad Ken Vickers. |
