The George & Dragon was situated at 16 Vauxhall Street. This pub was built c1820 and rebuilt in 1935. in 1983 it shot to fame when new landlady Julie Lettern opened a swimming pool in the back garden. The pool was gone by the end of the 1980s, although the pub survived until 2006, it has now been converted into flats.
