This pub was immortalised by the
singer/songwriter Richard Thompson on his 1994 LP ‘Mirror Blue’ released on
Capitol Records. Thompson was born in 1949 in Notting Hill and in 1967 was a
founder member of the band Fairport Convention, who rehearsed in Muswell
Hill. The song ‘King of Bohemia’ is named after the pub and relates to an
encounter there with a young woman that presumably took place in the late
60s or 1970s – Thompson relocated to the USA in the 1980s. |

In the days when Ronnie Greenhill was the nominal
publican the KoB was expertly run by his wife withe the help of the
indomitable Sadie. A truncheon was displayed in a cabinet to signify
that this was a coppers´establishment. |
