The Crown & Horseshoes was situated at 321 Fore Street. This pub was present by 1881 and closed in 2006.  It is now used as a grocer’s store.  It had been a Whitbread pub and in its final days suffered a series of name changes, including to Steps and Kelly’s Bar.
