Kings Arms Tavern

The Kings Arms Tavern was situated in Change Alley and originally known as The Swan, being built in 1681, the original building was destroyed in the 1748 Cornhill fire. It was rebuilt as The Kings Arms thereafter, and survived under this name until the 1790s. The original building has long since been demolished, but a Blue Plaque commemorating the first meeting of the Marine Society is located at the site.
