The Leopard was situated at 33 Seward
Street. This pub closed in 2000 and was demolished in 2001. |
|
In 1890, the Landlords of the Leopard
PH, 33, Seward St, Goswell Road, were Thomas and Emma Reeves. They employed
a manager called Rowland Fielding who was drowned off Herne Bay in 1890
during a boating trip. A servant who worked at the Leopard, twenty eight
year old Mary Ann Hill, was on very friendly terms with Rowland Fielding and
on learning of his death, she committed suicide by throwing herself off
London Bridge into the Thames.
