I was a fairly regular customer. I remember partying into
the night the day West Ham won the F.A. Cup, "From a Jack to a King" on
the jukebox over and over. The Waggon was one of a chain of pubs called
St Georges Taverns. Every year on St Georges Day you could get cheap
beer if you paid in old money; first it was a Shilling a Pint and later
two Bob had to have an old Shilling or Florin. Happy days. |
