I had my Wedding reception at the Princess Alice in Forest Gate in 1960.It was a very well run establishment then. The Landlord was Len Platts and at closing time each evening he played a signature tune ."aint you got no home to go to"

Grant 1999/2000 I and a group of South Africans were bar staff and assistant managers at The Alice. I have written a book titled Consider This, soon to be published including our occupation and employment at the pub.
Rebecca Messiter early 1950s My parents, Charles and Marie Carson, ran this pub in the late 40s/early 50s. It was a very busy pub evenings and weekends, piano music and lots of singing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. I remember Saloon, Public, snug bars plus off-licence.
