The Prince Of Wales was situated at 124 Globe
Road.
This pub was established by 1868 and
was rebuilt in the 1930s. It had been a Watney’s Brewery pub until 1995
when it became a free house, and at around this time it was renamed
Charlie’s Bar.
The interior was decorated in a kind of Moroccan Kasbah-style, aimed largely
at a gay clientele. The pub closed in 2008. |
|
This pub was demolished and replaced by
flats in June 2012. |
