Oxford Arms

The Oxford Arms was situated at 43 Stepney Way. This pub closed in 2004 and has now been demolished to facilitate the building of an extension to the London Hospital.

The Oxford Arms Pub at 43 Stepney Way (then known as Oxford Street), in 1871 was run (owned?) by Welsh born George Roberts - ‘Beer-House Keeper’. He and his wife, Eliza, were grandparents to the once well known London Music Hall singer, dance and theatre comedienne Gladys Archbutt.
