The Woodman was situated at 150 Higham Place.
Dating back to 1868, it closed in early 2010 and is currently closed and for
sale. |

As already noted, this pub
opened in 1868, at which time it was situated in an area of watercress
beds. It was acquired by the Courage Brewery in 1901 and held by them until
the breakup of the brewery estates in the 1990s, when it passed to the Inntrepreneur Pub
Company. It was looking very run-down when I last visited in 2008.
Now converted and modernised for residential use. |
