1976 my first wife and our families
celebrated our engagement here, Chicken/Scampi Chips in a basket and called
on stage by compare Tony Bonetti. Seen some terrific tribute bands on that
stage over the years, Pink Fraud, Alike Cooper, T-Rextasy and Rolling Clones
amongst the very best. E17 misses this iconic music venue. |

I remember seeing Wilco Johnson from Dr Feelgood perform
at the Royal Standard. It was an excellent gig and I enjoyed the fun
atmosphere in this place and a few pints of course! Its a shame to learn
of its closure as it was great pub/venue for live music. |
