The Royal Standard was situated on Blackhorse Lane. This pub was a music venue and closed in 2011. It was call the Tryst in its final years and has now been demolished.

1976 my first wife and our families celebrated our engagement here, Chicken/Scampi Chips in a basket and called on stage by compare Tony Bonetti. Seen some terrific tribute bands on that stage over the years, Pink Fraud, Alike Cooper, T-Rextasy and Rolling Clones amongst the very best. E17 misses this iconic music venue.

Narinder Dhanjal 2010 I remember seeing Wilco Johnson from Dr Feelgood perform at the Royal Standard. It was an excellent gig and I enjoyed the fun atmosphere in this place and a few pints of course! Its a shame to learn of its closure as it was great pub/venue for live music.
