was a Whitbread pub and was closed in 2002 and demolished in 2006. Offices
have been built on the site. |

My mum and dad Bill & Barbara Norris used to run this
pub. We used to have a Jazz Band playing and my dad used to sing. I
remember a group of lorry drivers that used to come in every night.
Stevie Stafford and his brothers. Ike Taylor and his sons Jeffrey, Tony
& Steven. The R.Whits Reps Ivor etal. Alice and Lil the barmaids I had 2
bothers BIlly & Andrew, people used to pay them to swear. I went to
Cumberland school |
