The Volunteer

The Volunteer was situated at 238 East India Dock Road.
This pub was present by 1881 and was
rebuilt for Charrington’s Brewery in 1913. It stood between the Grand Palace
Picture Theatre and the north entrance to the Blackwall Tunnel. The pub
closed in 1991 and was
demolished soon afterwards.
A block of flats now stands on the site (see photo below). |
