The Steamship was situated at 24 Naval Row. This
pub closed in 2015. |

In the 1960s the landlady was a Mrs
Lennon and there was live music in the bar on Friday,Saturday and Sunday
nights.
I was fortunate to have played in there with my band, The Bob Power Combo,
on many many weekends, fabulous pub and clientele will always be remembered
with gladness and sadness to see her closed. |

I was a regular customer during the
60's and 70's. On one of my weekend visits to the pub a surprise guest
to get up and perform was Long John Bawdrey singing his big hit single
Let the Heartaches begin. |
