Foresters Arms

The Foresters Arms was situated at 253 St Leonards Road. This pub has now been converted into flats.

I used to occasionally drink in the Foresters as a young lad with my Father and Uncle who lived in nearby Teviot st.
The landlord was I slightly shady fella called Johnny Keating. I was told at the time that he was married to bit part actress and minor celebrity Helen Keating, who had numerous walk on parts in shows such as Minder and London's Burning during the seventies and eighties. She was also featured on the cover of a 10cc album called "How Dare You" Pointless trivia I know, but maybe of interest to others like myself, who yearn for simpler times when you could relax in a nice smokey bar.

Just to back up Greg’s comment - I used to live in next to this pub in Chadbourne st - he’s right about Helen Keating, she was often in this pub along with the occasional Chelsea footballer. I recall having a good chat with Denis Waterman in there once. As a kid I’d fall asleep to the sound of ‘pub singing’ on a Saturday night. Great times.
