East India Arms

The East India Arms was situated at 5 Naval Row. It was demolished to make way for the second bore of the Blackwall Tunnel. Construction began in 1960, so the pub assumedly disappeared in the late 1950s. As you can see in the photo, there are impressive railings on the roof where the pub boasted a veranda with views across London. My grandfather Alfred Charles Reed was the pub's landlord in 1932 - but lost his licence after a year.
