Barley Mow

The Barley Mow  was situated at 133 Narrow Street. This pub was present by 1809 and was intimately linked with the Taylor Walker Brewery which developed around it – and which became known as the Barley Mow Brewery.  The brewery survived until 1960 and so did the pub, but both are now demolished.  In 1989 a newly created pub nearby took the old Barley Mow name, although this new one is now renamed the Narrow.
