Victoria Cross

The Victoria Cross was situated on Jack Cornwell Street. As at May 2010 this pub was closed and boarded up. Both the pub and the street derive their name from Jack Cornwell, a local lad who won the V.C. at the battle of Jutland in 1916.

Closed again in June 2014 when the licence was surrendered. A planning application submitted for demolition to make way for a residential development including a new pub.
