Lion & Key

Picture source: National Brewery Heritage Trust

The Lion & Key was situated at 475 High Road. This was probably the first established pub in Leyton, possibly dating from as early as 1300.  It was acquired by Charrington’s in 1908 and substantially rebuilt in 1936.  Closure came in 2009.

Now reopened as a hotel with ground floor cafe/bar.
