The Golden Cross was situated at the corner of Station Road and Boston Road. This pub was present by 1826 when the publican was Isaac Thornton. It closed following a fire and is now used as a private house.

The publican in 1881 was 38 year old Rachel Rawlinson who lived there with her seven children. Planning permission has now been given for conversion to five flats, with a further residential development of the grounds to the rear.
