The Queens Head was situated at 9-9A St Marys Hill. It was first noted in the Stamford Court Records for 1765 when the tenant was Robert Brown, the property being owned by the Exeter Estates. The pub was sold in 1880 and demolished and rebuilt in 1886 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s jubilee, see the plaque cast into the gable on the frontage. The pub continued trading until 1968 the last landlord being G.H. Alder
