The Black Bull was situated on Stamford
Walk. This pub adjoined the Stamford Hotel and was used as the hotel tap
until the early 20th century. Much of it was demolished in 1936 to make way
for a new building to house a rotary press for the Rutland & Stamford
Mercury. Also known as the Stamford Post Hotel and The Hotel Tap, the pub
closed in the late 1980s after trading under the name of The Ostler. It
reopened in 1993 under ifs old name of The Black Bull but closed in 2010 to
become shops and is now to be converted into luxury accommodation. |
